[xKore ft. Zoe&Naomi - Need You]

Charming mix of ideas.

It initially felt like an intro that refused to climax despite many build-ups and drops, but that's not a bad thing; personally that almost ongoing tension was great. The heavily sidechained, slow attack bass synths were a personal favorite, and most of the production was ace and met the potential that your previous work has held up to such a high caliber. I didn't care for the female vocal bits, there was something about them that was... jarring, and almost unneeded. Whether it was the note it was in, the grain in the voice(s) or a combination of the two, it just didn't sit right. Thankfully, the rest of the track carried off where that misstep was. All in all, solid and enjoyable.

Side note: Skream's raving about this song is fan-fucking-tastic.

Gorgeous and Moody.

Immediately, right at the first few strokes of the ivory keys, you had me captivated. Eyes closed, moving with each movement of the keys, grinning ear to ear; I was into it all the way. I waited for some brush drums and a standing bass to come in, but the more I heard, the more I didn't care about the drums and bass. All I cared about was the piano man, telling his stories with the 88 voices at his fingertips. The movement of it all was just so clean, it flowed like a refreshing river and never once was I bored with it. I am in many ways surprised that you had the galls to make a jazz piano solo compared to your competition, but after hearing this, all I can think is that your competition better step up to the plate and deliver.

That long silence was unneeded, I'm gonna get that out of the way. I heard light hits build up into the song and ALL MY ELATION when it turned into future garage! I saw Dubstep, thought something filthy, erratic and psychopathic and get this, which is equally as good and loved. I felt it moved a bit too much for a future garage song in the sense that it was a bit too progressive in melody. Though I'll give you this: this reminded me in every way of an ascension from darkness into flying on cloud nine, and that makes the past 'mistake', and I use that term very loosely, alright in my eyes. Production and mastering could use some tweaks, but all the ideas are here and I like what I heard.

A welcome return!

It doesn't matter how old or young you are, whether you've been here since the start or just got on Newgrounds today, you've listened to ParagonX9 and loved his work. Fact.

This song definitely has that sound we all have grown to love from you: punchy erratic percussion, great fantasy melodies, the sudden urge to switch from 4/4 to 12/8 in an instant... it's all there.

Like you said, it doesn't truly feel like a Chaoz song, but it's to be expected from such a long term hiatus from Reason that'd you'd be rusty. That's fine in my book, seeing as you came back strong as ever. That gated synth was fun in the energy 'realm' and the peaceful, high-hearted halfstep portions worked well in contrast.

A solid release, but not without it's flaws. You might be fully aware of them, so I won't list them; they're minor, and slightly biased. :P

Oh, and P.S.; I'm sure everyone on Newgrounds would go apeshit if you did a dubstep song. Just sayin'.

Enjoyable, yet predictable.

Right from the start, I'm impressed by the fact that this is LSDJ and not some 'cheaptune' software on the computer. I like the idea and can imagine a bunch of pikachus and squirtles bouncing around as they do to it, but it's repetitive and a tad bit of a chore to get through without much progression or change in the song; you need work on that.

Your instrumentation is top-notch though, and that's really good. I don't know how hard it is to work with LSDJ, but I trust that it's easy to pick up, hard to master. Is that about right?

Anyway, I got an odd sensation from this song that was not sure if good or bad, because it caught me off guard and was so cutesy I felt embarrassed to listen to it. Oh well. 8/10, 5/5 because I vote 5 on every thing.

Haha Thanks so much! Yeah, a LOT of people pick up LSDJ but drop it FAST becaus Trackers have a pretty steep learning curve.

I'm working on giving my songs more variety in their progression so they aren't so repetitive and yeah I can see you getting a little embarassesd listening to it lol, my friend described it as "Cutesy as shit" lol

This reminds me so much of DJ Shadow's Endtroducing... and I love it. The fact that you took someone else's song(s) and made it your own is not an easy task, especially hard to make it sound good AND keep the listener in the song.

My emotional go-to song

Your lo-fi compositions have never ceased to amaze me, and after listening to this song for a little under three years, I feel comfortable enough to finally write a suitable review for it.

Right now, I'm going through a tough time with a friend who is in and out of depression and lost a few friends recently. We were to meet up and really catch up awhile back, but he fell on hard times, mainly from the aforementioned loss of his other buddies. He started to become suicidal and cut frequently, and he's still on edge because of it.

This song fits the both of us perfectly, I want to be with him and he wants to be with his deceased friends in the afterlife. In a way, this song is almost too perfect... the gloomy moody blips and near-surrounding, constricting vocals seem to encircle you and taunt you almost. If nothing else, it's certainly one of your most emotionally-powered compositions. Yes, even over Upstairs, and that song was magical.

For essentially being the anthem towards my downward spiral into depression, you get a 10 and a high-five.

That seems to be pointless. Yes it's monotonous. Yes it needs lyrics. I'm gonna focus on other bits.

Like the fact that when it kicked in, I got chills down my spine so bad. That's difficult to do.

I don't like how it dropped off the face of the earth like it did with the bell ring, but other than that it was twisted, well composed and all around good.
